Small Wedding Pricing in Ontario, Canada

What if your wedding day only included the people who you are closest to?

It can, there is no rulebook saying you have to have a big traditional wedding. You don’t have to invite people you hardly know. Imagine your wedding day… Does being surrounded by a lot of people make you feel excited and happy? Or stressed and overwhelmed?

If imagining your wedding day doesn’t fill you with excitement, maybe you need to change your plans.

You can have a beautiful meaningful wedding with the people who truly matter to you. There is no minimum guest count. You choose how your wedding day is planned and how you make it perfect for you and your relationship.

Your wedding is about you. It is about celebrating your love, commitment and relationship. So have the wedding you want instead of the wedding people expect from you.

Choosing an intimate wedding doesn’t limit your choices. It opens the door to more possibilities and unique venue ideas.

An intimate wedding could mean getting married at a vineyard and having your dinner amongst the vines.

An intimate wedding could mean choosing a boutique hotel with the history and charm.

An intimate wedding could mean getting married at a cabin, on the dock surrounded by those closest to you.

Whatever you choose, the important thing to remember is the choice is yours to make.

Don’t know where to start?

Don’t worry I have you covered. I have a wedding planning guide that includes 60+ pages on ideas, tips and tricks specifically geared towards intimate weddings.

You have enough people telling you what you should be doing. I am not here to tell you what you should do or what is always done on wedding days. I am here to help you. I am here to answer questions when asked. I am here to provide you with all the information you need to make your own decisions.

I don’t want you to have a certain type of wedding that fits a pinterest style board. I want you to have a wedding that fits you. Your wedding should fit your relationship, your personality and your love story. Only you get to decide what that looks like.

Choosing an intimate wedding doesn’t mean you can’t add some adventure to it.

So you want to have a wedding surrounded by those closest to you. But you also see those wedding portraits in unique landscapes and think, wouldn’t that be an amazing experience?

You can have both. The intimate wedding and the adventurous wedding portraits.

Want example scenarios? I have some.

For the early risers, why not spend your whole wedding day together, literally. You can choose to get up for a sunrise session; a first look with an adventure session combined. This allows you to have those landscape focused wedding portraits. But it allows you to get back and spend the rest of your wedding day enjoying your intimate wedding with the people you invited.

For the sunsetters, why not build in a wedding day break. Your wedding day is important and you want your important people there. I get it, but maybe you don’t want to be surrounded by people the whole day. We can plan a break around sunset and you can get more landscape focused wedding portraits. You can really take in the day, your wedding day with your new spouse, in your new favourite spot. To take a deep breath because you did it, you are married and you did it your way.

What happens if you don’t want a long wedding day? What if that was one of the reasons you ran away from a traditional wedding?

Don’t limit your wedding to a day. Who says your wedding can only be one day? Hint there is no rule book. Do what you want.

Have your intimate wedding filled with the people you cherish. Soak up the whole experience. Have your wedding exactly how you want. Then the next day plan an adventure wedding portrait session. Hint, it doesn’t have to be the next day, it can be the day after or before your wedding. Do whatever works best for you and how you want your wedding to look and feel.

Chantal is amazing to work with! she is incredibly flexible and makes every photo shoot fun and exciting. I have known Chantal for years now, she shot my wedding, my anniversary photos and now my maternity photos. I have been over the moon about every single photo she has taken! Even when I am not feeling the most photogenic she has a way of making you relax and enjoy the process in order to come out with beautiful photos. Finally, She has an amazing ability to capture the relationship my husband and I have together, goofy, fun and full of laughs, without having to force a thing.

Chantal Davidson was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive by phone and emails, professional and personable. She has a way of putting her clients at ease. During our photo session, she helped me and my husband feel very comfortable. That made for capturing precious and genuine moments between us. I love her balance between candid photos and posed photos. She has an incredible talent, and is truly an amazing photography, with training experience worldwide. The results of her pictures truly speak for themselves - absolutely breathtaking visuals and stunning pictures.

We are so lucky to have had Chantal be a part of our big day and now be a part of our lives. Chantal is such a beautiful soul and produces some seriously beautiful work. I am so lucky to have found her on my search for a wedding photographer and gained her as a friend. If you’re looking for awesome candid moments to capture all of the fun of your wedding (or stag and doe or birthday - literally anything) then she is your girl!! Chantal does wonderful posed shots as well and makes you feel super comfortable if you’re not (like my husband and I hahah)
Thank you for everything Chantal ❤️

My husband and I had the pleasure to be photographed in Banff by Chantal in summer of 2019. Chantal is not only an amazing photographer, but soo friendly and fun to be around, we spent extra hour or two after session sipping coffee and chatting. :)
She makes you laugh and lets you soak in those in-between moments(my favorite photos!). It was freezing with wind gusts I almost flew away, but you could barely tell in photos because we are all laughs having a great time :)
If you are looking for more than beautiful photos, rain or shine Chantal is your girl! :)

Questions Answered. These are some of the most common questions I get asked.

Small Weddings

Do I need to know how much photo coverage I want before I book?

No, I understand you might not know the exact amount of hours you need photography coverage for on your wedding day. You can pay the retainer and sign a contract and determine the number of hours at a later date. You can book the minimum package and upgrade once the timeline is built.

Certain destination wedding locations will have a minimum amount of hours that must be booked for the travel. For example, international destinations require a minimum 8-hour photography package.

I am not sure where I want my wedding portraits taken. Do you help with that?

Yes, I help with wedding portrait locations. I have a questionnaire that gives me ideas of what you like or don’t want in a photo location. I have an intimate wedding venue guide for multiple regions. It goes over what venues have smaller wedding packages and gives you all the basic information you need. We talk about location options in our consultation call.

Do you help with vendor recommendations?

Yes, if you want vendor recommendations I have them.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Unless the weather is dangerous for us or my camera gear we can still take amazing photos with dark clouds and changing weather. We can find overhangs, use umbrellas or embrace light rain. We can also plan to do indoor photos as well. We can’t control the weather and I don’t expect you to pick a magically beautiful day as your wedding day, I am comfortable photographing in all types of weather and working with all types of lighting situations.

I will note, we live in Canada and most of the country gets some sort of winter and snow so if you don’t want photos in the snow I get it I am not a huge fan of snow myself, either plan a wedding in another season or plan for indoor photos.

Is travel included in the package price?

Yes, they are included in my wedding packages. I do this to make things easier on you, so you have an exact number and not an estimate of what you are paying. Also, I tend to book my travel in bulk, so when I am in Banff in June each year, not one couple is paying for my whole travel, it is split between all the couples that I book in Banff in June. Make sense?

What do you mean by travel is included?

Short answer: commercial flights, car rentals, gas and accommodations if needed.

Not every elopement will need all of these travel options included. That is why I have custom packages for different locations that include travel.

What is the booking process? How does payment work?

You can find the booking process below the FAQ section. I require a signed contract (by each person getting married) and a $500 non-refundable retainer to save the date. This means you are officially booked and your wedding day is put into my calendar. The balance is due 30 days before the wedding day. You can split it up into smaller payments if that works best for you.

The Booking Process

  1. Fill out my contact form, you can find it by clicking ‘contact me’
  2. I will email you answering any questions you have, give you more information + a pricing guide.
  3. We can set up a time for a phone call or continue talking through email, whichever option you prefer.
  4. Phone call or continue emails talking about your wedding day goals, whether that’s a small wedding or an elopement.
  5. Reserve your date with me. I will send over a contract + retainer information. At this point we only need a date, a general location area and the retainer.
  6. Yes! Officially Booked 🙂 I help you with vendor recommendations, location ideas, timelines and more.
  7. You have a wedding you revel in and relive the day through your photos for years to come.
