Eloping on a weekday

Eloping on a weekday. You don’t have to wait for the weekend.

It’s a common misconception that weddings happen on weekends. One of the great things about eloping is not working around a lot of people’s schedules. This means if you want, you can elope on a weekday.

So eloping on a weekday is an option… What's the benefits?

  1. It’s not as busy. Do you want to have the ceremony or portraits taken at a popular place? I bet it’s super busy on the weekends but during the week it most likely has less crowds and more privacy.
  2. More open dates for vendors. Some vendors get booked for weddings a 1-2 years in advance. There are limited weekends dates and they get booked up fast. Eloping during the week gives you more dates options if you are planning a shorter engagement period.
  3. If you are having a destination wedding or travelling to your elopement, travel costs (flights, accommodations etc.) during the week are typically less than weekends.

Is eloping on a weekday right for you?

First of all, do you like the idea of eloping on a weekday? I personally love it but if you don’t get a good feeling about it then plan a weekend elopement. Can you book the time off work for a weekday elopement? Everyone has different vacation policies so make sure you, your partner and any witnesses can get the time off work.

Where do you want to elope? If you have a specific venue in mind, make sure they allow elopements during the week. Some venues only allow weddings on weekends. Typically Airbnbs, cabins, b&bs and boutique hotels will allow elopements during the week. If you are getting married at an outdoor location, like a provincial or national park it’s a benefit to elope during the week since it will be less busy and provide you with more privacy.

Wherever your dream elopement location is, if there isn’t information on their website send them a quick email or phone them. I have come across many locations that allow elopements but do not have any information on their website.

Kind Words

Rylee + Dan

Niagara on the Lake, Ontario

I can’t even find the words to describe how incredible Chantal was as our photographer for our intimate wedding. She had so many creative ideas and ultimately helped me plan parts of my wedding because of this. She really goes the extra mile and she isn’t afraid to pitch her ideas and get everyone into position to stay on schedule. If your not comfortable getting photos taken, trust me she will make you feel light, fabulous and like a super model. Dan and I couldn’t be happier with our photos snd are so grateful she was able to be so flexible especially during these restricted times.

Lots of love Chantal!!!

Thanks again

Love Rylee and Dan

(Thanks for making our day so special)

Chantal was super helpful from start to finish. Not only did she explain all the photography details but also helped us by suggesting places and helping out on the day of the wedding. She is great and easy to work with, she was always quick to respond to any inquiries and super easy to contact. All the pictures came out beautifully and she delivered them timely!

My husband and I had the pleasure to be photographed in Banff by Chantal in summer of 2019. Chantal is not only an amazing photographer, but soo friendly and fun to be around, we spent extra hour or two after session sipping coffee and chatting. 📷

She makes you laugh and lets you soak in those in-between moments(my favorite photos!). It was freezing with wind gusts I almost flew away, but you could barely tell in photos because we are all laughs having a great time 📷

If you are looking for more than beautiful photos, rain or shine Chantal is your girl! 📷
