Eloping gives you freedom

Love the outdoors but aren’t sure where you want to elope?

Not only does the elopement planning guide have a whole section dedicated to choosing your location. I send you a questionnaire that helps figure out what you need in an elopement location. I will send you a location list with a ton of options.

The world is your oyster but I am here to help you figure it out.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Chantal, your elopement photographer.

I have travelled to 11 countries, 9 provinces and over 30 states, I am a pro at packing, road trips and travelling in general. Before I found my love for elopements, I photographed over 120 traditional weddings.

I will help you navigate the elopement planning process.

I think the ability to freeze a moment in time with a photograph feels like magic.

Celebrate your elopement. Allday.

Choosing to elope doesn’t mean you don’t get a full wedding day to celebrate. The difference is you get to choose how to celebrate your love and commitment to each other and that is something that deserves to be photographed.

I have Ontario elopement packages that allow you to celebrate your wedding all day.

Think of your elopement as your perfect all-day date.

Imagine waking up on your wedding day, enjoying the morning with your partner before getting ready in separate spaces. Having a first look at your cabin grounds before your legal ceremony. Afterwards, you travel to your photo location and spend a couple of hours walking through the forest, beside the lake and saying your personal vows with a cliffside view. All the while you are being photographed, creating memories and celebrating your marriage. You finish off with sunset photos before heading back to the cabin for your first dinner as a married couple. Afterwards, you are photographed under the stars reflecting on your elopement day.

This is only one of many options you have to celebrate your elopement all day.

Remember how your elopement felt through photographs.

Relive the big moments, like your vows, and the small candid moments of your day through the photographs that will hang on your walls.

Share your elopement photos with friends and family. They can experience your elopement through photographs.

Chantal is amazing to work with! she is incredibly flexible and makes every photo shoot fun and exciting. I have known Chantal for years now, she shot my wedding, my anniversary photos and now my maternity photos. I have been over the moon about every single photo she has taken! Even when I am not feeling the most photogenic she has a way of making you relax and enjoy the process in order to come out with beautiful photos. Finally, She has an amazing ability to capture the relationship my husband and I have together, goofy, fun and full of laughs, without having to force a thing.

Chantal Davidson was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive by phone and emails, professional and personable. She has a way of putting her clients at ease. During our photo session, she helped me and my husband feel very comfortable. That made for capturing precious and genuine moments between us. I love her balance between candid photos and posed photos. She has an incredible talent, and is truly an amazing photography, with training experience worldwide. The results of her pictures truly speak for themselves - absolutely breathtaking visuals and stunning pictures.

We are so lucky to have had Chantal be a part of our big day and now be a part of our lives. Chantal is such a beautiful soul and produces some seriously beautiful work. I am so lucky to have found her on my search for a wedding photographer and gained her as a friend. If you’re looking for awesome candid moments to capture all of the fun of your wedding (or stag and doe or birthday - literally anything) then she is your girl!! Chantal does wonderful posed shots as well and makes you feel super comfortable if you’re not (like my husband and I hahah)
Thank you for everything Chantal ❤️

My husband and I had the pleasure to be photographed in Banff by Chantal in summer of 2019. Chantal is not only an amazing photographer, but soo friendly and fun to be around, we spent extra hour or two after session sipping coffee and chatting. :)
She makes you laugh and lets you soak in those in-between moments(my favorite photos!). It was freezing with wind gusts I almost flew away, but you could barely tell in photos because we are all laughs having a great time :)
If you are looking for more than beautiful photos, rain or shine Chantal is your girl! :)

Questions Answered. These are some of the most common questions I get asked.

Elopement Packages in Ontario

Do I need to know how much photo coverage I want before I book?

No, I understand you might not know the exact amount of hours you need photography coverage for on your wedding day. You can pay the retainer and sign a contract and determine the number of hours at a later date. You can book the minimum package and upgrade once the timeline is built.

Certain destination wedding locations will have a minimum amount of hours that must be booked for the travel. For example, international destinations require a minimum 8-hour photography package.

I am not sure where I want my wedding portraits taken. Do you help with that?

Yes, I help with wedding portrait locations. I have a questionnaire that gives me ideas of what you like or don’t want in a photo location. I have an intimate wedding venue guide for multiple regions. It goes over what venues have smaller wedding packages and gives you all the basic information you need. We talk about location options in our consultation call.

Do you help with vendor recommendations?

Yes, if you want vendor recommendations I have them.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Unless the weather is dangerous for us or my camera gear we can still take amazing photos with dark clouds and changing weather. We can find overhangs, use umbrellas or embrace light rain. We can also plan to do indoor photos as well. We can’t control the weather and I don’t expect you to pick a magically beautiful day as your wedding day, I am comfortable photographing in all types of weather and working with all types of lighting situations.

I will note, we live in Canada and most of the country gets some sort of winter and snow so if you don’t want photos in the snow I get it I am not a huge fan of snow myself, either plan a wedding in another season or plan for indoor photos.

Is travel included in the package price?

Yes, they are included in my wedding packages. I do this to make things easier on you, so you have an exact number and not an estimate of what you are paying. Also, I tend to book my travel in bulk, so when I am in Banff in June each year, not one couple is paying for my whole travel, it is split between all the couples that I book in Banff in June. Make sense?

What do you mean by travel is included?

Short answer: commercial flights, car rentals, gas and accommodations if needed.

Not every elopement will need all of these travel options included. That is why I have custom packages for different locations that include travel.

What is the booking process? How does payment work?

You can find the booking process below the FAQ section. I require a signed contract (by each person getting married) and a $500 non-refundable retainer to save the date. This means you are officially booked and your wedding day is put into my calendar. The balance is due 30 days before the wedding day. You can split it up into smaller payments if that works best for you.

Can I bring friends and family to my elopement?

Yes, you can bring friends and family to your elopement.

I am not sure where I want to elope. Do you help with that?

Yes, I help with elopement locations. I have a questionnaire that gives me ideas of what you like or don’t want in an elopement location. I have a section in the elopement planning guide that goes over location options. We talk about location options in our consultation call.

What are permits? How do I know if we need them?

Some locations require permits for you to get married on-site and to have photography done onsite. Once you decide on a location, I will help you determine what permits (if any) are needed and how to apply for them.

How do we hike in wedding attire?

I have a whole section on this included in my elopement planning guide. The short answer, you don’t have to do the whole hike in your wedding attire. You can hike in regular clothes and change once we get to the location.

I suggest choosing wedding attire that allows you to move around. Make sure you can walk around, move from side to side and lunge in your outfits if you plan on hiking in them.

Also, there is no rule about having to hike on your elopement day.

The Booking Process

  1. Fill out my contact form, you can find it by clicking ‘contact me’
  2. I will email you answering any questions you have, give you more information + a pricing guide.
  3. We can set up a time for a phone call or continue talking through email, whichever option you prefer.
  4. Phone call or continue emails talking about your wedding day goals, whether that’s a small wedding or an elopement.
  5. Reserve your date with me. I will send over a contract + retainer information. At this point we only need a date, a general location area and the retainer.
  6. Yes! Officially Booked 🙂 I help you with vendor recommendations, location ideas, timelines and more.
  7. You have a wedding you revel in and relive the day through your photos for years to come.
